Melissa Tiers is the founder of The Center For Integrative Hypnosis with a private hypnosis practice in New York City. She teaches classes in Integrative Hypnosis, Neuro-Linguistic Psychology and mental health coaching. Melissa is an instructor for the NGH and The International Association of Councelors and Therapists and an adjunct faculty member of The New York Open Center and Tri-State College of Acupuncture.
Melissa is a two time recipient of the International Medical and Dental Association's prestigious Pen and Quill Award for her books "Integrative Hypnosis: A Comprehensive Course in Change" and "Keeping the Brain in Mind: Practical Neuroscience for Coaches, Therapists and Hypnosis Practitioners" co- written with Shawn Carson. Melissa was recently awarded the NGH's 2014 President's Award, for excellence in the field and the 2014 Speaker and Author of the year from the Zurich Hypnose Kongress.

Every client learns a rapid form of self-hypnosis to reinforce and continue making changes on their own. This empowering cooperative method of hypnotherapy provides the client with all the tools necessary for lasting change with the minimum amount of office visits.
Melissa’s smoke cessation program is extremely successful and easy. Smokers learn three rapid techniques for craving elimination and stress reduction. Her weight loss program is enjoyable and healthy, focusing not on diets and feeling denied & deprived, but on health, vitality and an exercise regimen to fit all types of lifestyles. Melissa believes in changing the relationship the individual has to food, thereby changing behavior patterns. This program is fun and inspiring, and makes losing weight and getting in shape easy, replacing a negative self-image with one of renewed energy and positive imagery. The number of sessions varies from two to four, depending on the individual.
When working with pain management Melissa requires a referral from a physician, believing that pain is a signal or a warning of a problem, and that to remove the pain without addressing the cause is dangerous and unethical. Our ability to interfere or block pain signals with our mind is widely documented and highly successful. Hypnosis for pain control has no side effects and takes away the feeling of hopelessness and dependence that sufferers of chronic pain normally experience. It is safe, effective and non-addictive.
Melissa believes in teaching stress management in every session, no matter what the goal. The role that stress plays in compulsive behaviors such as overeating and chain smoking and the myriad of illnesses attributed to or exacerbated by stress is astounding. When one's ability to deal with stress is addressed, many other issues become manageable or non-existent.
